What is a film and series discovery app for?
Neuros built the discovery flow along three axes — popularity, genre and upcoming releases — while a favourites list and a follow structure created the loop that brings a user back. The problem is not a shortage of content but decision fatigue: users were checking several sources to decide what to watch. Discovering, listing and following in one app merges those three steps.

No; the feed rests on three axes and popularity is only one. The genre axis narrows to the user's interests while the upcoming axis surfaces titles that have no popularity data yet. A feed reduced to a single axis starts repeating itself within a few weeks and users stop opening the app.
Because it gives an explicit reason to return. When something changes for a followed show or actor, a notification is produced, and the user comes back because there is something they wanted to know rather than to browse. For notifications to work they must be sparse and accurate — an app that notifies on every movement gets muted.
