No. Neuros builds new capability around the core: the core publishes events, decision services process them and write results back through standard interfaces. Replacing a core takes years, while this layer is measured in weeks — and if a service does not meet expectations it can be withdrawn without touching the core.
A decision that cannot be explained is not used. In scoring systems Neuros records which inputs and weights produced each decision; the reason shown to the customer is a decision rule drawn from a fixed set, not a translation of the model's internals. Because the decision is stored with a snapshot of its inputs, an appeal reproduces the same result.
In a card authorisation flow the budget is typically under 100 milliseconds; if scoring exceeds it the transaction times out and a genuine customer is declined. Neuros keeps scoring to online features, moves heavy computation into a precomputed feature store, and defines a deterministic fallback to the rules engine for when the model does not answer.
